The purpose of this volume is to compare the experience of experts in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece and Turkey concerning themes such as the structure, evolution, prospects and development policies of the labour market. The volume describes the issues and priorities being debated both in the government sector and in the academic world. This is done carrying out a critical analysis of the present situation in relation to developments over the last few decades and by identifying the methodological assumptions necessary for making projections about probable future changes.
